8/23/2003 Fairfax, CA Scott Creel, 41, from Bozeman MT, ran a course record 3:49:54 to win the 2003 USA 50K Trail Championship at Golden Gate Headlands today, over a very strong field. Mary Fagan, 28, from Larkspur CA successfully defended her 2002 title in a time of 4:33:10. Conditions were ideal for spectators and volunteers, warmer than usual for the runners compared to previous Headlands runs.
