The 2007 World 24-Hour will be held in Drummondville, Quebec, CANADA on July 28-29, 2007. The U.S. national team (up to 6 men and 6 women) will be selected as follows:
(1) Each of the top 3 American men finishers at the 2006 American National 24-Hour Run Championship (Ultracentric 24-Hour, Grapevine, Texas, Nov. 18-19, 2006; www.ultracentric.net) will be selected to the team if he achieves a minimum distance of 135.0 miles. Each of the top 3 American women finishers at the 2006 American National 24-Hour Run Championship will be selected to the team if she achieves a minimum distance of 120.0 miles.
(2) The 4th place American man finisher at the 2006 American National 24-Hour Run Championship will be selected to the team if he achieves a minimum distance of 140.0 miles. The 4th place American woman finisher at the 2006 American National 24-Hour Run Championship will be selected to the team if she achieves a minimum distance of 125.0 miles.
(3) Remaining positions on either the men's or women's teams will be filled based on 24-hour performances on certified (or otherwise known to be accurate) courses or tracks, in rank order, achieved between Nov. 13, 2005 and Nov. 19, 2006.
(4) Prize money distribution at the Ultracentric-American National 24-Hour Run Championship, Nov. 18-19, 2006: The first 3 American men finishers and first 3 American women finishers, if they are ultimately selected for the 2007 U.S. national team and participate in the 2007 World 24 hour as members of that team, will receive $1,500 each prize money. Places 4 through 6 for men and 4 through 6 for women in the 2006 Ultracentric-American National Championship will receive $500 each prize money if they are selected for and participate as members of that team. Any American finishers among the top 6 men or top 6 women at the 2006 Ultracentric-American National Championship who are not selected for the team, or who are selected and do not participate in the 2007 World 24 Hour as members of the team, will not receive prize money.
